The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll be at the core of how next-generation vehicle systems are developed, tested, and validated. We’re looking for a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Engineer who thrives in building, supporting, and continuously improving complex test environments within cutting-edge automotive projects.
You’ll work in an AD/ADAS, protective safety, and vehicle motion control environment, contributing to the development and stability of HIL systems and CI pipelines. Your work will play a key role in ensuring high-performance test infrastructure and enabling faster, more reliable software development in a collaborative, Agile setting.
What you’ll be doing
• Design, develop, and update HIL rig solutions based on product team needs
• Commission new test rigs and integrate hardware and software components
• Develop automation solutions to support CI pipelines and system testing
• Troubleshoot and analyze issues in HIL environments (hardware, software, infrastructure)
• Improve CI pipeline performance, stability, and monitoring/metrics visualization
• Support system test automation across multiple product teams
• Maintain documentation of HIL rigs, configurations, and updates
• Act as first-line support for CI environment issues and disturbances
What we’re looking for
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in HIL development within automotive or embedded environments
• Strong background in automotive electrical architecture and embedded systems
• Hands-on experience with HIL development using dSPACE and Vector tools (CANoe)
• Proficiency in Python, CAPL, and C for scripting and automation
• Solid understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
• Experience with CI infrastructure and automation (pipelines, dashboards, monitoring)
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink
• Familiarity with Git, command line, and SSH
Nice to have
Experience in domains such as Doors, Sunroof, Trailer modules, or Exterior Lighting / Interior Systems.
