About the Role

We’re looking for a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who combines strong manual testing expertise with modern automation practices. This role is ideal for someone who sees quality as a shared responsibility and actively collaborates with engineering and product teams to build reliable, scalable systems.

You’ll play a key role in designing testing strategies, building automation frameworks, and ensuring high-quality releases across multiple platforms and environments.
 

What You’ll Do

Own Quality Across the Lifecycle

• Embed early in the development process and contribute to requirement refinement

• Identify risks, gaps, and testability issues before development begins

• Advocate for quality using data, metrics, and insights

Manual Testing Excellence

• Design comprehensive test cases, including edge cases and exploratory scenarios

• Execute regression testing with a strategic balance of manual and automated efforts

• Lead acceptance testing (UAT) with stakeholders

• Write clear, reproducible bug reports with full context

Build and Scale Test Automation

• Develop and maintain UI automation using Playwright

• Write unit and integration tests using Jest

• Design and maintain scalable test frameworks (from scratch when needed)

• Ensure test reliability, maintainability, and CI integration

API & Data Validation

• Validate REST APIs (status codes, contracts, edge cases)

• Perform database validation using SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL)

• Work with NoSQL databases (MongoDB/DynamoDB)

• Implement data-driven testing strategies

Cross-Platform Testing

• Ensure coverage across browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)

• Test across devices (desktop, tablet, mobile)

• Validate behavior across multiple environments (local, staging, production-like)

Debugging & Troubleshooting

• Analyze logs and trace issues across systems

• Use browser DevTools for UI debugging and performance insights

• Run and troubleshoot applications locally (Docker, full-stack setups)

• Read and understand Node.js / TypeScript codebases

Collaborate Closely with Engineers

• Participate in PR reviews from a quality perspective

• Pair with developers to debug complex issues

• Help improve unit test coverage and testing practices

  What We’re Looking For

Experience

• 4–6 years in QA or SDET roles

• Strong balance of manual testing and automation experience

Technical Skills

• UI Automation: Playwright

• Testing Frameworks: Jest (unit & integration)

• API Testing: Postman, Supertest, or similar

• Databases: SQL + NoSQL

• CI/CD: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar

Testing Expertise

• Exploratory, regression, and acceptance testing

• Test architecture and framework design

• Risk-based testing and quality metrics tracking

Tools

• Jira (test management & bug tracking)

• Confluence (documentation)

• CI pipelines (test reporting & execution)

• Requirements (list the technologies or minimum requirements)

• Mobile testing experience (real devices, emulators, or cloud platforms)

• Experience with cloud-based testing tools (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs)

• Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools

AI & Efficiency
